Art and Academic Fair - Feb. 20, 2015

Scandia Elementary School will be bursting at the seams on Friday, February 20, 2015, as our students display their many art, science, social studies, and writing projects for our annual Art & Academic Fair. During the evening festivities, families can see their students' outstanding work as well as additional wonderful events. In the past we have had demonstrations from the Science Museum of Minnesota, the Minnesota History Center, Star Lab, selected student projects, and the Scholastic Book Fair was in session.

Time to sign-up for volunteering at the 2015 Art & Academic Fair, which will be held on Friday, February 20. This is a great event for all of the students at Scandia that wouldn't be possible without help from you. There are opportunities during the day and also at night. Listed below is a brief description of the volunteer positions available (times are noted on the spreadsheet.) If you have specific questions about any of the positions, or if you need additional information, please contact Amy Larsen at 651-332-1171.

Project Check-in: Oversee Scandia student council members that are helping students with project check-in and set-up.
Project Evaluator: Meet with students one-on-one to briefly discuss their project and fill out a short evaluation form.
Photographer: Photograph students with their project after they have completed their evaluation. Please note that you will need to leave your memory card with us for the afternoon so that we can have the pictures printed. You will get your card back that evening at the event, or we can make alternate arrangements if you are unable to attend the evening event.
Room Runner: Escort classes to the gym for their project evaluations and then return students to their classrooms.
After School Set-Up: Assist with setting up special presentation rooms (tables, chairs, signs, etc.) and putting student photos with their projects.
Special Programs: Monitor special program rooms during the event (presentation sign-up, noise levels, questions, etc.)
Clean-Up: Pick up tables and chairs, take down signs, straighten up special program rooms.
