Scandia Elementary Test Results

Stars

The 2010-11 school year was the fifth year for the MCA-II tests in reading and the first year for the MCA-III in mathematics for grades 3-6. These tests are given in April and the results were reported to districts in October. The state of Minnesota compiles a state report card on each school that you can access using the link below.  It gives information about school programs, enrollments, and test scores.

Scandia Elementary students had 91% proficiency rating in grades 3-6 in reading on the MCA-II tests. On the higher standard MCA-III tests, Scandia scored a 74% rating in mathematics, also in grades 3-6. Forest Lake Area Schools average student scores were 78% in reading and 61% in mathematics. The state average proficiency numbers were 75% in reading and 56% in mathematics.

We are proud of our test results, especially the consistent high score in reading.  At Scandia Elementary we also know that the success of our students is a result of many factors: teacher quality, high standards and expectations, educating the "whole" child, parent involvement, and constant communication between home and school.

We thank you for your support of our students at Scandia Elementary, where we educate the "Stars of Tomorrow!"
